Diploma Endorsements


COMMUNITY SERVICE ENDORSEMENT REQUIREMENTS

Authorized by Louisiana Revised Statute 17:264, Bulletin 741, Louisiana Handbook for School Administrators, stipulates that beginning with freshmen entering high school in the 2013-2014 school year and beyond, local education agencies (LEAs) may award a Community Service Diploma Endorsement to students completing a total of 80 hours of community service in ninth through twelfth grade. Students transferring into a participating LEA after ninth grade or students graduating early may receive an endorsement provided a total of 80 community service hours are completed prior to graduation.

School systems may award a Community Service Endorsement to students completing a minimum hours of service outlined below.  Students may earn service hours identified in the Community Service Diploma Endorsement Categories
